Invite and Manage Users
Last updated: 2026-06-06 Summary:
- Invite members by email with a role attached; they accept the invite and land in your company.
- Built-in roles: Owner, Admin, Accountant, Viewer — most teams never need more.
- Roles can be changed later; the invite is not a permanent assignment.
- Go to Admin → Members.
- Click Invite and enter the person’s email and pick a role.
- Inviting several people at once? Use Bulk Invite instead and add them in one screen.
- The invitee receives an email, creates their account (or signs in), and appears in your members list once they accept.
What each role can do
Section titled “What each role can do”| Role | Meant for |
|---|---|
| Owner | The account holder — full control, including billing and member management |
| Admin | Day-to-day administration — manage members and settings without owning billing |
| Accountant | The person doing the books — transactions, reports, and filings |
| Viewer | Read-only access — for a reviewer or stakeholder who shouldn’t change anything |
Plans that include custom roles let you define your own permission sets beyond these four — see Pricing for what your plan includes.
Where people get tripped up
Section titled “Where people get tripped up”- The invite landed in spam. Have the invitee check their spam folder before re-sending.
- Wrong role at invite time. Not a problem — edit the member and change the role; it takes effect on their next page load.
- Your external accountant needs access. Invite them as Accountant. They get the working access they need without billing or member control.
